About DeMuros’ Top of the Hill Restaurant
Debby and Dan DuBois have been delighting locals and return Mount Dessert Island visitors with their charming atmosphere and excellent dinner creations since 1997.
Debby is a local from Bar Harbor, while Dan hails from Florida. They met while cooking together, and came back to Maine to help Debby’s dad, Lenny DeMuro open a DeMuros’ Top of the Hill Restaurant in Southwest Harbor Maine, adjacent to Acadia National Park.
Debby’s grandmother was well known throughout Bar Harbor as the best Italian cook around, and there was always a pot of “gravy” cooking on the back burner of the stove in her kitchen. The wonderful aroma filled the neighborhood, and many excuses were found to wander over to her house around dinnertime.
Danny found his love for cooking when his father became a partner at one of the first Outback Steak Houses in Florida. He has been refining his culinary talents at many fine dinner houses around the country ever since.
Dan and Debby are well known for their strong commitment to their Island community, and have hosted many fundraising dinners over the years….an average of 3 a year over the past 11 years. These efforts have been to benefit many of the non-profit organizations in Southwest Harbor, or simply to help a neighbor in need.
We strive, at DeMuros’ Top of the Hill Restaurant to serve Top Quality food at affordable prices. Our menu varies from fresh local seafood to hand cut steaks and offers traditional comforts, as well as gourmet and vegetarian selections. Our choices allow you to bring in the gang, and know that everyone will find something to choose from. We want our guests to feel at home, (without the clean-up), and comfortable in our cozy New England setting. We believe it shouldn’t cost a fortune for a nice night out, and when your taste buds are this happy, you don’t need an Ocean view!!
